Dr. Veda Ramsay Stamps is the visionary founder and CEO Emeritus of Bio Equity Ed, co-owner of the Ramsay Group Development, LLC, and Regional Development Director of UNCF LA, is at the forefront of driving impact at the intersections of community development, educational equity, and environmental justice. With a doctorate in global education specializing in biophilia, she is focused on pioneering innovative approaches that are reshaping the educational landscape.
Through her seminal doctoral research, “Biophilia: A Study of How Nature-Focused Environments Influence Black Students’ Wellbeing,” she has significantly enriched our understanding of the profound impact of nature on student welfare. Her novel Flexible Wings serves as a testament to her unwavering dedication to fostering creative connections between youth and nature, exemplifying her exemplary thought leadership.
Director
Elizabeth Padilla is a dedicated advocate for equity and social change, with a decade of experience in the non-profit sector. She has tackled issues such as food insecurity, racial disparities in swimming, health education, and equitable access to outdoor spaces. As a first-generation Latino and college graduate, Elizabeth is passionate about fostering belonging and breaking down barriers. In 2022 alone, she successfully applied for, managed, and supported grants and programs totaling $500,000, while also orchestrating operational logistics for events ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences with up to 5,000 attendees.
Communications Associate
Samara Stamps brings a wealth of experience and a passion for creating positive change. Having served as a peer navigator at Santa Monica College, she has supported fellow students in navigating their educational journeys. Additionally, her role in office support at Water Wings Swim School has honed her organizational skills and commitment to community service.
Currently pursuing her associate’s degree in business at Santa Monica College, Samara is dedicated to planting seeds of hope and making a meaningful impact in her community. Her leadership and determination are instrumental in fostering a strong sense of community and support among her peers. With a focus on empowering others, Samara is an invaluable asset to our mission at Bio Equity Ed.
